National Occult Day is Today – Nov 18

Let’s counter National Occult Day

with prayer through out the day for our world

and our country, asking God to pour down His grace

and mercy upon those whose hearts may be open to Him.

Occult Day

November 18, 2011

Occult Day is celebrated on November 18th of each year. The staff at National Whatever Day were unable to locate the origin of Occult Day, though believe it was established in an attempt to enhance religious understanding and freedom.

Occultism is the study of occult or hidden wisdom. To the occultist it is the study of “truth”, a deeper truth that exists beneath the surface: “The truth is always hidden in plain sight”. It can involve such subjects as magic (alternatively spelled and defined as magick), alchemy, extra-sensory perception, astrology, spiritualism, lithomancy, and numerology. There is often a strong religious element to these studies and beliefs, and many occultists profess adherence to religions such as Gnosticism, Hermeticism, Luciferianism, Satanism, Thelema, and Neopaganism. While Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam are generally not considered occult, some of their modern interpretations can be, as the interpretation of Hinduism within Theosophy or the various occult interpretations of the Jewish Kabbalah. Orthodox members of such religions are likely to consider such interpretations false; for example, the Kabbalah Centre has been criticised by Jewish scholars.”

  1. Wow! Very timely. Thank you for this post. I stand in prayer with you, warrioress. I rebuke Satan and all of his schemes in the name of Jesus!
Lord Jesus, defeat the enemy on every level. Expose every lie. Open the eyes of those who are lost so that they see you, Lord!! Break every chain that binds people. Let your plan be victorious in every way. We give ourselves fully to you. Use us for your purpose. Let your will be done and your kingdom come! In your mighty name – Amen.

  2. Apologies if this is rude, but isn’t God and his mysterious ways the biggest occultist of them all?

  4. Amen, WP! Amen.

  5. Actually, no, Nonimus, God isn’t the biggest occultist because He is wide open for communication and has already exposed Himself through the bible, His word. Through Jesus Christ and everything He did when He was in here in human form, God allowed us to know the ultimate in love and He continues if we will but seek Him out. He assures us within the bible that if we seek Him, we will find Him. That doesn’t seem at all mysterious to me.

Thank you for your thoughts on this, regardless if we disagree. I appreciate your input and interest and the comment.

  6. Beautiful song, HpyLady! How are you of late? Hope you’re getting ready for a lovely holiday. God bless, and thank you for the comment.

  8. Warm greetings to all! I want to suggest that you let go of your fear of spirituality that is labelled “occult.” I really enjoy studying and learning about various cultures and spirituality from around the world, and I’ve found that so many of these faiths that are labelled occult are not evil or dark, just different than the faith my family practices. I have friends who practice yoga and study eastern religions, even some Wiccan friends, and they are all very loving people who only want to be closer to god and wish for peace for all people.

I wish you all much love and encourage you to let god show you the way to light and peace, not follow false prophets who would turn you on your fellow man. God wouldn’t never lead you to hate or fear, only the greatest love.

  9. What I don’t get is this, why should people care what others want to beleave I don’t judge people for being Christian so why judge me for being Wicca.
I mean doesn’t the bible not say “judge not let ye be judged”

  10. I think people care about what you and others believe because of what we believe and because we care about you and others as our fellow human beings on this planet. For me, it’s not because I want to judge you. I simply want to share with you my take on things in this life, and reveal what I’ve found that works for me. Thanks for stopping by here, Alex, and I hope your Easter Sunday is pleasant.
