Last night I got to watch a brand new movie called “Apostle Peter and the Last Supper.” It’s a 2012 showing and is just magnificent. It was available on Dishnet On Demand, but I’m sure you can rent it as well.
This movie offers you the perspective of Peter as he sits in jail, three days away from execution. It shows you the absolute grace within a follower of Jesus Christ, who is in love with his Lord above all else. It is indeed a thing of beauty. Seeing his faith in action is inspirational.
This movie is pure and powerful. You are able to put yourself into Peter’s place and imagine how you might react under similar circumstances. To Peter, the most important thing that mattered most, even in the stress and discomfort of a jail cell, was talking to his jailers about Jesus. He was so wise!
What was also amazing, was that these jailers wanted to know about Jesus; they were actually curious, so Peter wasn’t tossing his pearls before swine. These men knew Peter had something important to say. He actually met and walked with Jesus! He had no problem giving up his life because he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt where he was headed when his breath left his body.
To have lived in those times must have been quite something. To have actually known Jesus! Can you imagine it? I can only hope I would have such grace under pressure.
Be sure and see this movie. You won’t ever forget it.
