Seceding Christendom Mad at Obama

Apparently, there a lot of ruffled right-wing feathers that Governor Mitt Romney lost the election; many of these have taken to screaming succession from The Union! In other words, they want to take their toys and go home — to another country, I guess? Β Or are they thinking that those of us who are quite content in our states, (I’m from Texas), will just take our state and leave?

Well, we won’t. πŸ˜‰

I’m not going anywhere nor am I seceding from the good ole’ USA. I’m staying right here in these UNITED states with my family of animals and one child and we’re not budging.

These Republican folks are this ticked off about the President Obama electoral massacre over Governor Mitt Romney! This is hysterical. Err..historical. Yes, I know it’s absurd and reminds me of my now thirteen year old daughter when she was three. She clamored for her way and didn’t get it so stomped about and threw a full-on tantrum; I guess this is pretty much the same kind of thing, huh? Β It’s kind of surreal though, isn’t it?

I’m kind of laughing to myself at all the drama, but I guess I better pray for these people instead. Some of these people are actually quite serious!

Back to the Civil War? Obama’s opponents seek to secede

Now that President Obama has been re-elected, some of his fiercest critics don’t want to be part of the United States. And they’re not talking about moving to Canada: they want to pull the nation apart from within.

Citizens from 20 states have filed petitions on the White House β€œWe The People” website seeking to secede from the union and form new state governments, The Washington Post reports. (Under the program, launched last year, the White House will respond to any petition that receives 25,000 or more signatures within 30 days.) Some of the signers may have been inspired by a Republican Party official in Texas who last week called for his state to secede from the United States and the β€œmaggots” who re-elected Obama. States Petition to Secede From the Union

They don’t want to take their country back. They just want to leave it behind.

As the dust settles in the wake of President Obama’s decisive reelection last Tuesday, the White House petition website has been flooded by a series of secession requests, with malcontents from New Jersey to North Dakota submitting petitions to allow their states to withdraw from the union.

Most of the petitions submitted thus far have come from solidly conservative states, including most of the Deep South and reliably separatist Texas. But a handful come from the heart of blue America – relatively progressive enclaves like Oregon and New York.

All told, petitions have been filed on behalf of 20 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Β Source

  1. Thanks for writing about this. You should give the red Republican elephant a weepy eye and draw a crocodile telling him, “I want my tears back.” Sore losers. Keep up the good work!

  3. All this talk about seceding is ridiculous! What we need to do as a country is to stand behind our president and help bring this country back together. I live in Scottsville, Texas and am not going anywhere either!
It is time for everyone to grow up and face the facts! We are all American and our country must come first. Put your petty arguments aside and help heal our country. If you aren’t part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

    Great post Adrienne!

  4. Take their toys and go home. Well put!

  5. If they want to their state to secede what about those in the same state who do want to join the low information voters. Can’t we find a place for them outside our states (perhaps a small island in the pacific).

  7. My mother in law literally believes that President Obama is the anti-Christ. Nutso. The division has become nutso.

  8. Yes, the division is nutso, SS. Your mother in law isn’t the only one who believes Obama is the antichrist. These people could read their bible and be clear that Obama is not him, based upon many things that the bible said would tell us who he is. First of all, antichrist will be beloved by the majority and that doesn’t appear to be the case, (chuckle), when the other half of the country appears to hate Obama; furthermore, there are many other signs that Obama doesn’t even come close to fulfilling.

    Have a read!

  10. Wow, that is ridiculous. Some of these conservatives need to take a seat and shut up.
