Christisanity has the capability of putting things succinctly and firmly, while still being loving. Hard-hitting truth that can sting, but is sorely needed in our current world. This is a great post!
Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. — 1 John 4:20
Undeniably, the people Jesus had the least patience with were the religious. That will sound strange to someone who hasn’t actually read the Bible, but simply equates “Christian” with “religion.” It can be hard to explain to people why true Christians are NOT religious — to them it sounds like a contradiction. Maybe because it has a lot to do with hypocrisy, and so many well-known Christians are huge hypocrites.
I don’t see these “public Christians” displaying much love, and that’s a fact. I see them attacking, criticizing, ridiculing, and damning the people they should be loving. How does this spread Jesus’s message? How does this draw people to Christ?
