In Your Life

Why study the bible and read it regularly if you don’t also pay attention to what it’s telling you to do? If you aren’t willing to actually apply what you’re learning within it’s pages to your daily living experience, you’ve missed the whole point of reading it. This is a book that expects you to take what you’re reading and change life!

It’s not enough to just stop by a church building on Sunday mornings and figure you’ve done your Christian duty for the week. Christianity is a lot more than church-going or religious platitudes. It’s not just about rules and following commandments;  it’s about making actual change within your life;  it’s about becoming more like Jesus Christ! It’s putting what you read out of that bible, and hear preached from that pulpit, into action!

The next time you open your bible, choose a few verses within it, and model them in your own life for others to see.  How do you think this would look? How will this change things for you and the people around you? How might this change your politics?

Do this a few times a week to begin with. Really think about the words of Jesus Christ, those red-letter words of His, and study how those written words actually look portrayed in the here and now by you. How do these biblical instructions appear in your real life when they are put into action? How do Christ’s words look to your friends and neighbors, the poor,  sick,  elderly,  homeless, and the waitress down the street who is barely making enough to pay her bills, or the unemployed waiting in line at the nearest food bank, in your life?

How many times have you just passed by and not applied what you say you believe in? The words of Jesus make a difference when people see them in action, in your life.  Please make the words within that bible really mean something in your life, today — and everyday.

  1. Amen! You are speaking to the complacency of so many Christians today.

  2. Great! You hit the proverbial “nail on the head” with your beginning words.
