As we wait for yet another potential government shutdown, it’s interesting to think about a rogue faction of congress, spurred on by Texas Senator Ted Cruz, attempting to extort a US president. President Obama remains calm despite the hoopla over his Affordable Care Act, which promises millions of uninsured Americans, healthcare.
The rogue faction of tea party conservatives and other sundry rebels is about to hold the US military hostage with no paychecks, along with thousands of soon-to-be furloughed federal workers. I have to wonder how these fine Americans feel about ye good ole’ party (GOP) right about now…
Obama Care will be funded, regardless, however!
This is wonderful news.
Unfortunately, I live in Texas, a red state backward in its vision for Americans, thus I have no idea whether I’ll be able to personally apply for healthcare or not, but I’m glad that the rest of you will and have only this to say:
GO OBAMA, GO!
I don’t like or appreciate extortion as a way of meeting one’s goals; it’s a slimy, slippery process that is inclined to backfire. And backfire I think it will.
I do greatly admire my president, though. I think he is brave, reasonable, and rational and I cheer him on for standing up for millions of us who do not have healthcare, who think he is courageous and decent for giving a hoot. Thanks, Mr. President!
