Compassion Is A Sign of Conversion

12 As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. – Collosians 3:12

It is interesting to read and think about what is within the Holy Bible, the word of God.

God makes things very clear. Jesus exhibited the qualities we should emulate during his human walk upon this earth.

How can one tell the true from the false?

As “Holy people,” we are admonished to show compassion, sympathy, and gentleness toward our neighbors.

When one hears that millions of people may lose their health care and may be at risk of severe illness or even death, this should be a concern; it should be something one would resist supporting.

We can tell who really loves Jesus Christ and is following Him by the fruit of compassion within their lives.

Jesus Christ will show us who is real and who claims to be something they obviously are not.

The Time is Now

Image result for salvation of Jesus Christ

Well everybody, things are not looking so good for America; that madman about to be at the helm in less than thirty days, President Elect Trump, is touting nuclear proliferation, along with other Twitter insanity. Republicans have voted in the beast, antichrist, or whatever you choose to call pure evil incarnate.

I thought I better review the words of Jesus Christ within the Holy Bible with you, regarding eternal salvation and life on the Heavenly plane.

Basically it’s pretty simple, friends. “Believe.”

The Bible says:

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  John 11:25

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  John 14:6

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.   1 Thes 4:14

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”   2 Corinthians 5:21

30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16:30

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:9-10

Don’t wait any longer. 2017 is looking challenging for America. The time is now.

It’s not too late for anyone reading this to recognize his or her need for the Savior, Jesus Christ.

If you need further assistance in getting right with God, there are countless websites on this topic. I will include some of them below.

Above all, keep it simple. Don’t make it complicated. God knows your heart. Call out to him now. Today.

Whatever may happen next, no matter who or what destroys this earthly planet, we will be safe within Jesus Christ, with God. We will live! It’s clear that we’ve ALL fallen short of what God would have us be, which is why we need the salvation of Jesus Christ to begin with. You see, God is holy; we are living on an earthly plane though, and are born unholy or in sin. Jesus Christ makes us holy, however, when we believe and accept that we need Him, so that we can stand before God without blemish, holy in His sight.

The times are in turmoil and uncertainty lies ahead. Don’t wait any longer. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Now.

American Behavior

FB_IMG_1465875881043The season for mourning is over for me. I sense that it’s time to accept the disappointment of the loss of Election 2016.

It’s time to call Mr. Trump, “President Elect Trump.” It’s time to show this man who won the election the honor of the office of the presidency.

I absolutely loathed conservative Republicans who refused to respect President Obama, who mocked and hatefully treated him with disrespect. I can remember and there are blog posts on this blog to testify to my distress at how immature, and not Christian I thought these people were. Jesus would never have treated people like that. I claim the name of Jesus. I claim to be one of His followers, thus I must behave like one. I will not bring shame to the name of Jesus Christ.

I’m not saying I won’t make jokes about President Elect Trump. I may tease a bit and may even point out errors and poor judgment when he makes a mistake, and of course he will, (make lots of mistakes). What I am saying is that it is time to accept the results of the election and move forward. It is time that we behave with dignity and honor and recognize that we lost the election. I plan to give Donald Trump a chance to be a good president.

Personally, I feel that Donald Trump may be a lot better than his Vice President, Mike Pence, who is seriously a lot like Ted Cruz, (scary). So I’m going to accept this matter and behave as I believe God wants me to. I ask the rest of you who voted for Hillary Clinton to pray about doing the same.

Election Around the Corner!

daughter-of-the-kingI hope all of my readers are well. I bet most of you are ready for this election to be a thing of the past; I know I am.

I seem to have lost some followers along the way, not just here on the blog, but also on Facebook. I’m not exactly a low profile type of Christian, and it’s pretty obvious that a great majority of those who identify as Christian are proudly voting for Donald Trump this election; I am really not at all surprised, to the tell the truth.

However, I do admit to an inability to digest the fact that American Fundamentalist, Evangelical, Religious Right Christianity doesn’t care if they resemble Jesus Christ in word and deed anymore. I have now also realized that it’s fairly pointless to even exchange thought on this topic anymore with the majority of my fellow believers.

What happens when I have tried to share my thoughts with them is argument, flaring tempers, stubborn unwillingness to look at the other side, and even I am often  guilty of these. I think we are all rooted in and solidly anchored within who we believe, and are choosing to stand by, politically-speaking.

At this point, all I can say is “May God have mercy on us, regardless of who wins this election, and may HE remain at the helm of America, despite the declared winner upon this transient, unreliable earth.  May God reach out to those who understand His words within the Holy Bible, and soften the hearts of those who truly do not, who are somehow actually being deceived. May God please take the blindfolds off of the deceived’s eyes, if it be His will, and bring them into His truth, in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Lord.”

If anyone is interested in my particular take on why I am choosing to vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton, and am leaning firmly liberal/left as opposed to my brethren on the right, please feel free to ask if you’re sincere and want to know; I will attempt to explain myself as briefly as possible, though if you’ll read many of my recent past postings, I think they speak for themselves.

May God take care of each one of you and may Jesus Christ become the authentic Lord of your lives in word and in deed from now on and past this election.

Whatever the results may be, God’s got us. We belong to Him. He will prevail ….

rotten_fruitAs a Christian, the choice for the presidency is easily a no-brainer; I have a teenage daughter; hence of course I am not voting for Donald Trump.

I will vote for Hillary Clinton proudly, for a number of reasons:

Hillary Clinton’s ideas and policies are the closet to the teachings of Jesus Christ. She defends children, cares about the poor, seeks healthcare for all, looks to make those who love and have an abundance of money pay their fair share, wants to reduce abortion through education and birth control, and a host of other reasons.

She is experienced, reliable, and has a great work ethic. She already knows how to run the country. She is sane, calm, and rational.

As a Christian, I have to look at the alternative to Hillary and it doesn’t take long to recognize that Donald Trump’s mouth tells us everything we need to know about how he would be as president.

He has already taken advantage of so many women sexually, and bragged about it! By now, we’ve all heard the video tape of Donald Trump talking about grabbing the genitalia of any woman he wants to because he’s a celebrity. He boasted on tape about his perverse abilities to sexually assault women he doesn’t even know! And this is presidential?

He’s potentially also a violent predator! Donald Trump has an upcoming hearing because he is being confronted with evidence showing that he savagely beat and raped a thirteen year old child.

Yes, Donald Trump is going to court for raping a thirteen year old child!

Where there is smoke, there is often smoldering flame.

0donaldHow is it that someone can run for president when they have a rape hearing coming up in December? Seems mind-boggling, doesn’t it?

As a Christian, when one is picking out a piece of fruit, does one choose the rotten apple, or go ahead and take the apple that may be a little bruised but still fresh? If one wants an apple, the choice is obvious. As a Christian, we surely don’t choose the rotten apple and try to rationalize why it’s smart to eat rotten fruit, do we? So why are so many doing this very thing?

People love the political right-wing because they have been brainwashed that it is the Christian side of the aisle, but this is no longer the reality of the matter!

God is going to give Hillary Clinton the presidency and I am extremely thankful for that; I hope you are going to vote and that you will choose Hillary. I pray that our country will use common sense and reject the bad fruit presented to us as a valid choice.

Matthew 7:18
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Trump Says “Apologize for Obamacare!”

not-just-bandaidsI am one of the people who give the ACA created by President Obama a resounding A plus.

Now, of course I realize that there are issues with the Affordable Care Act. Some say the ACA is not affordable at all. I have heard this complaint from Democrats and Republicans alike. I think there is something extremely important to note about the various complaints, however.

Before Obamacare there was REPUBLICAN-CARE…

People were dying under Republican-care. Why? Because the Republicans DON’T CARE. They simply do not care about those who cannot afford to pay for healthcare all on their own. The self-employed, those who are not employed by a large group who can buy into healthcare at a reasonable rate, the poor, or those who fall between the cracks… there was no healthcare for these folks. These folks were dying in the street. NO ONE CARED UNTIL PRESIDENT OBAMA!

For me and my teenage daughter, no one gave a hoot until President Obama.

healthcareMy daughter has severe bipolar disorder. Most people are clueless about what I’ve dealt with all by myself. They have no idea what my daughter has dealt with. And most people do not care. It’s rare when a president actually impacts our lives. President Obama did. I’m not sure what we would have done the last few years without the prescription coverage and the help paying for my child’s monthly hospitalizations. I only know that these are fighting words for me, when someone criticizes this president or the ACA.

Yes, I know it’s not perfect and that it needs some serious tweaking, but it’s a start! Hillary Clinton will work on it and improve it!  The Republicans do not care about those who cannot afford healthcare.

Jesus Christ would have cared. JESUS CHRIST CARES NOW! And I assure you that Jesus is not advocating for the Republican take on the ACA or for Trumpcare.

Trump does not care, and neither does Mike Pence.

I get really angry when I think about the dark ages before I was able to have affordable health care; I become really resentful and just tired. Mostly I am tired of Christians who are not really Christian at all, and people who would vote for a man who supports a return to those dark ages. I can only pray that God hears my desperate prayer, that He continue to allow the Democrats to help those of us who desperately need someone to care.

Almost a month ago, I happily joined a Facebook blogging group called “CHRISTIAN BLOGGERS NETWORK” (CBN). The group now houses 9000 members. I thought it might be a fun way to make new friends with other Christian bloggers, plus I expected to learn and share points of view with other Christian writers, like myself. I was warned within a few days of joining that there were strange things occurring within the group; I saw this for myself the first evening that I began to post.

No sooner had I offered opinion than I was viciously attacked by one of the more rabid, conservative zealot-types, who are the primary outspoken posters within the group. I watched a young transgender woman be trolled and bullied mercilessly, so I hopped into the fray to offer my perspective on Jesus Christ and love. I suggested that Jesus would not have treated anyone like this girl was being treated, ever. Someone summoned a moderator and that was the end of that particular dust-up, but there were many more to follow.

Within a few more attempts at posting there, I discovered that this was a primarily religious right, conservative group and that the new administrator of the group, “Derick Dickens,” is determined and overtly planning to keep it that way. I was attacked for my allegedly “progressive” Christian views and quickly banned for absolutely no reason whatsoever, short of coming to the defense of another member and standing up to one of the more radical bullies there.

Thanks to one of the only reasonable moderator’s active at the time, (she was also banned within a week of my joining), I was reinstated from the ban. No sooner had I been reinstated then I was banned again at some point yesterday, due to being in agreement with a well-known, well-respected Christian blogger named “John Pavlovitz,” who has also been banned from the group at the same time that I was. I was informed by one of the current female moderator’s, “Laura Prater,” that John Pavlovitz is preaching a false gospel and is a false prophet, and since I agreed with his blog posts that I am a false prophet too. By midnight, yesterday evening, I was banned by this woman for the second time, with no warning or even an explanation for the banning.

Now obviously, with this kind of insanity occurring within this large Facebook group, the smart thing to do would have been to simply exit the group on my own, before being banned for the second time, but this is a huge blogging group of my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! I really believed that my blog would receive exposure and through that, more people would be brought to know Jesus Christ and my primary message to many of the Christians within the body of Christ would be seen more widely. Well, things did not happen that way and I have had an interesting, if somewhat painful lesson in Christian politics within the conservative Christian blogging sphere of the online Facebook community; I was, and am disturbed by what I’ve learned and experienced.

I have seen examples of a large percentage of the Christian blogging community interacting with one another and taken note of how they perceive of life and living it as a Christian. It is a scary prospect that the future of Christianity seems to be one of judgment, obsession with sin to the exclusion of love, mercy, and forgiveness, and a want to preach the wrath of God to the exclusion of all else. The impact that this is having on bringing people to Christ is sure to be felt. That was a group of 9000 Christians who are being taught to shun and disrespect those who think differently than they do, along with any and all LGBT Christians; those who identify as transgender are firmly told that they are going to Hell. Christians who are homosexual or bisexual are angrily informed that the Lake of Fire awaits them. These Christians are bullied mercilessly and told that they are being “loved,” in the process; I know for a fact that they do not feel very loved.

On some level, I am relieved to be away from the drama and the obvious false religion from a group of self-righteous, bigoted, Pharisaic “Christians” who are anything but Christ-like, but I worry for whom ever stumbles into that ugly web next. Not only are the vulnerable and naïve targeted and brainwashed, but this is occurring all under the guise of good old Christian-teachings, backed up by ONE standard interpretation of the Holy Bible… theirs. The fall out will be unknown and uncertain, but at least there will be a written record of these events, and my voice added to it, small as it is.

May God be with those who are in that group now and those who join in the future. I pray that God take it upon Himself to handle this matter and I now turn it over to Him directly. I ask for God’s intervention as He watches what is occurring there. May He intervene and do what He chooses with the leaders of that foul site and their false religion that surely stinks to high Heaven; their fruit is rotten and it is obviously falling from bad trees. I wash my hands of that group, and shake the dust off of my proverbial sandals, and I am moving forward to where ever the Holy Spirit guides me next.

Jesus and Judgment

Paul on gay rights

I recently joined a Christian blogging site where an immense amount of time is spent discussing homosexuality, in terms of judging it as sin or not. Personally, homosexuality is a very difficult topic to discuss with other believers, especially those inclined to a legalistic approach. If one’s walk with Jesus is about dotting all the i’s and crossing every t, it is clear to me that this kind of relationship with Christ borders on a salvation of works, or trying to be good enough, (something of which I know I will never be in this lifetime on this particular plane, though of course I do still endeavor to please our Lord).

I don’t believe the sin itself is particularly important; in other words, it is not the sin that is at issue, it is how I and other believers deal with the sinner himself, that is of primary concern in a life of following Jesus Christ. My concern is the way that the Christian person deals with the sinner, no matter the sin!

I think Jesus deals with each one of us internally and very directly when it comes to our individual sins and we are in relationship with Him. The Holy Spirit convicts and nudges at our conscience. We are dealt with quite personally and effectively, so the role of other believers piling on and taking our personal sin inventory uninvited, seems extreme and even unnecessary a lot of the time, yet it happens a lot in Christianity today.

I’m not sure why judging other’s walk with Christ is such a focal point of Christianity, but people are a lot more concerned about sin in other people’s lives than they are in their own life. Perhaps obsessively focusing upon, critiquing, and judging another’s sin is a way of attempting to come to terms with how to deal with one’s own life of sin as an active believer.

It  would make sense and explain why Jesus said that the measure by which  we judge others will be the measure we are judged by. Are we as Christians merciful, compassionate, an understanding in regard to another’s sins? Or do we self-righteously look down from a lofty perch at those who are not holding up as well as we perceive that we are, in the endless earthly battle against sin?

And what of those who have never even met Christ? Are Christians to mock, slander and judge the unbelieving and their multitudes of sin?

I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people. In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world. But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who calls himself a Christian who is sexually immoral, or greedy, or an idolater, or verbally abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person. For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Are you not to judge those inside? But God will judge those outside. Remove the evil person from among you.

– 1 Corinthians 5: 9 -13

It seems clear that too many Christ-followers have forgotten Paul’s entreaty in the verses above. I note them everywhere I go, judging the sinner, persecuting the unbelieving, hating not just the sin, but the sinner himself. I don’t believe Jesus is pleased.

Ed cuts right to the heart of the problem. Now if we can just get all the Christians to listen up…

Ed Christian's World

Our Country, as like the rest of the world, is broken. It is filled with violence and killings. The time has come for us to turn this around, but how we do it depends on how well you follow your Christian teachings.

15Proverbs 15:1 Teaches us that a soft word turns away wrath and that responding to evil with evil only brings more evil.

Time and time again we have watched people respond to violence with more violence and what has it gotten us? More violence! When will we as Christians wake up and respond to this?

First Timothy chapter 6 teaches us to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness and gentleness. We are to do these things at all times using gentleness to turn wrath around and to bring peace to our lives as well as to others.

Our political leaders, in the name of National Security, have…

While I regret and grieve the loss of the five policemen in Dallas, I also recognize that I am tired of praying, crying, and waiting for necessary change. I don’t want one more death by gun/cop because of the color of a man’s skin! I am tired. TIRED. I will not unify and pretend that everything will be okay; things will not be okay, and most especially if someone like Trump becomes president. I am sick and tired of Christians who are not Christian. I am tired of alleged “patriots,” who claim to love America but hate Americans.

No more prayer, no more sweeping this under the rug. No more police brutality. I want a role model for president…someone who is loving and kind, not hyped up on speed or mania! I want to feel safe in my country. More than anything though, I am tired of being afraid of the people whom I pay taxes to protect and serve –  me and my brothers and sisters, black, brown, yellow, and white.  NO MORE OF THIS!!!!
